Spencer Niezgoda - Three Year Anniversary

As someone who is a valued member of the Platform Smart Team, we thought this would be a great opportunity to get to know Spencer more and ask him about his time at Platform Smart, plans for the near future as well as some other exciting ‘stuff’. Here’s what he had to say…

Name your favourite Platform Smart highlight so far.

Every day is a continuous highlight. To see the journey of growth live every day is exciting and motivating and I’m very lucky to be in a position where my actions make a difference which I can see. I work with a fantastic team, and we all understand and share the PS goals/vision which pulls us together in the same direction.

What is something that you are looking forward to in the next year?

Implementation of the new system to support the growth and capabilities of the organisation. This is the biggest back office project to date and is very exciting to be part of this and very excited to see the value this is going to bring.

If you weren’t in your current role, what would you be doing instead?

I had always wanted to be a pilot. I wanted to go into the RAF. Not sure if it was because I loved Top Gun when I was younger. I have taken my first flying lesson and want to continue learning with the goal of getting a license.

What inspired you to get into the industry?

It was more by accident than planned, I was an estate agent and decided to leave the industry. I worked as a temp for Canon UK and said they wanted to employ me full-time. They asked if I wanted to work in the IT department in Service Management. Knowing nothing about IT, they asked if I would do a trial to see if it’s something I would like to do as the passion for customer service and process improvement would be of real value. I joined PS because it was the right time as were going through growth and it was a fantastic opportunity for both parties. Knowing the processes and operation it was great timing to bring my 20 years + of experience. 3 years later we are still evolving, growing and the opportunity to achieve the vision and objectives is stronger than ever

What is your top tip for time management?

This is a great question. Within my working style, I have always tried to use the following rules:

1.     Set time limits on tasks

2.     Create a to-do list

3.     Mark off completed achievements and learn what can be done quicker or more effective next time

4.     Always take a bit of time to plan your tasks and day
