Trudy Graves - New Starter
Platform Smart are pleased to announce a further new addition to the team as we welcome Trudy Graves.
Trudy will be joining us as an Onboarding & Compliance Co-ordinator and will be supporting all the administrative duties behind our resourcing requirements. Trudy comes from a background in resourcing operations, having spent many years as a HR Co-ordinator, Senior Administrator and Office Manager for multiple organisations within the Security & Defence sector.
To get to know Trudy a bit more, we caught up with her recently about her previous experiences, what she’s looking forward to now that she’s joined the team and if she has any interesting facts about herself. Read below to see what she had to say.
Can you give an overview of your career leading up to joining Platform Smart?
I will try to answer this in such a way that doesn’t make me sound ‘ancient’. I feel like I have been in the Armed Forces since being a new recruit in 1984! In practice, I only enlisted for 8 years as a medic (Combat Med Tech) however, since leaving the Army I have still been associated with the MoD (Ministry of Defence) for the last 30 years in some kind of capacity. I am a firm believer in destiny so once I met Hannah, Oscar and Lindsay, how could I not want to join Platform Smart?!
What made you want to join Platform Smart?
To be honest, I had to do a bit of research. However, I had previously heard of PS before because I used to be a Resource Planner/Coordinator in my last role, and we engaged some of your associates! I ‘needed’ a change and move into another world and PS stood out for me.
What is something that you are looking forward to now that you have joined the team?
More pub lunches… just kidding! I am really looking forward to working with a team who all have the same goal, same culture, and same ethic. A team who are consistent in their approach to drive the business forward.
Has anything surprised you during your first few weeks with Platform Smart?
I guess the surprise for me is that you are ‘what it says on the tin!’ You’re not Ronseal but the whole of PS works more like a family. There are no divides, no separate offices for the CEO or ‘special treatment’ for certain people, although Shane does have the Porshe I want! Every single person I have met so far fits into a very natural hierarchy and culture.
Give us one interesting fact about yourself that we many not already know?
I’m not sure if any of these are ‘interesting’…
I spend 3 weeks of my annual leave at the Isle of Man TT every year volunteering as a paramedic looking after the riders during practice and race weeks.
I once got a week of detention of school for putting chewing gum in Elizabeth Hurley’s hair!
I still wait for the day Michael Dunlop or Mark Marquez to marry me!
