The customer is a prominent IT infrastructure and services firm operating across EMEA. Its mission revolves around providing a secure and interconnected future through technology and innovation. As an industry leader in networks, data centres, cloud, security and managed services, as well as an innovator in private 5G, it serves 65% of the Fortune Global 500 and more than 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
The Challenge
The customer operates across Europe as individual business units with limited collaboration between them. An EMEA-wide business strategy was set to reduce silos and bring the business units together to become one unified team, all operating in the same way, from how it engages and interacts with end customers through to the back-office systems and processes that underpin them. One of the key pillars to enable this business strategy to be executed was having a clear, common and EMEA-wide data centre strategy that encompassed the usage of cloud-based services, co-lo spaces as well as privately managed data centres.

Over six months, Platform Smart applied its flexible consulting service to meticulously shape the data centre strategy, ensuring constant stakeholder engagement to bind them into the solution and pre-empt conflicts.

We then crafted a set of data centre and hosting principles, uniting stakeholders across EMEA region in a shared vision for strategy development.
